Fulcrum Capital Partners Invests in Sunco Foods
Fulcrum Capital Partners, a leading Canadian private equity firm focused on the mid-market, is pleased to announce its investment in Sunco Foods (“Sunco” or the “Company”), a leading manufacturer of nut-based butters, snacks, and value-add food ingredients. The Company also imports, processes and distributes organic and naturally sourced nuts, seeds, dried fruits, grains and legumes.
Based in Burnaby, BC, Sunco serves food retailers, food manufacturers, and foodservice providers globally. The Company offers a wide range of private label and branded products to retailers, from large chains to independent stores. Sunco also distributes ingredient products to manufacturers and foodservice providers, both directly and through third-party distributors.
“We are excited to partner with Fulcrum to accelerate our growth strategy while maintaining our focus on product quality and customer service,” said Samir Virani, President of Sunco. “We look forward to expanding our capabilities to meet the growing demand for nut-based butters, ingredients, and snack foods.”
Graham Flater, Partner at Fulcrum, said, “We are delighted to be invested with Samir and his family to support Sunco’s continued growth. The company’s impressive production facilities, commitment to quality, and strong food safety culture is evidence of the success that the family and Sunco’s team have had since the business was founded in 2009.”
Fulcrum’s investment in Sunco marks the fifth platform in Fulcrum’s Private Equity Fund VI, which had a final close in 2022.
